Abington Township is a township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington Metro Area, and has a total area of 15.5 square miles. 15.4 square miles of the area is land, and the rest is water. This community is one of the oldest of the county, and was established in the eighteenth century, and incorporated in 1704. Some of the oldest transportation routes, industries and churches of the county are located here, as are small businesses and other significant employers.

The township comprises sixteen communities, though these are unincorporated divisions. Public schooling is administered by the Abington School District. This comprises seven elementary schools, one middle and one high school. Several private schools are also present in the township. Abington Memorial Hospital and Holy Redeemer Hospital are the local hospitals. Local attractions include Alverthorpe Park and the Abington Art Center. The cost of living here is 26.60% higher than the country average.
