Aleknagik is a second class city of the Dillingham census area in an unorganized borough of Alaska. It has a total area of about 19 sq. miles and is located almost at the top most point of Wood river. The town is located among the Bristol BayRecording District. It is on the south eastern end of Lake Aleknagik. Most of the residents leave themselves engaged with various subsistence and other commercial activities mostly related to fishing. Another popular source of income is trapping. Activities in and around the Bay of Bristol is generally held during summer. Some of the frequent modes of transportation are skiffs, vehicles and others. Aleknagik Airport located nearby also serves the city.
