The city of Big Bear Lake is situated at the county of San Bernardino. It is located on the southern shore of Big Bear Lake. It is located about 40 km northwest of San Bernardino city. The city of Big Bear Lake is surounded by the National Forests of San Bernardino. This city is generally used as a resort and it is used by the tourists throughout the year. Big Bear Lake has a total area of about 17 sq. kms. and is situated 6750 ft. above sea level. The City Council plans for a home grown local economic development initiatives, and implementing the Business Expansion, Attraction, Revitalization(BEAR) program. The economic development of the city revolves around industries involved in automotive, construction, car financing, information technology, clothing accessories, cosmetics, oil and natural gas, health services, hotel, insurance, metal, pharmaceuticals and real estate.
