Bristol is a town in and the historic county seat of Bristol County, Rhode Island. It is part of the Providence-New Bedford-Fall River Metro Area. It has a total area of 20.6 square miles. 10.5 square miles of the area is water, and the rest is land. It is named after the city in England. It was incorporated in 1746.
