Creede is a small town and the county seat of Mineral County in the state of Colorado. It is famous as the incorporated municipality of Mineral County. It is principally a mining town with plenty of minerals available like lead, zinc and others. Though over the last few years, the role of mining has diminished to a great extent, it still holds an important place in the local economy.
Creede has a total area of about 1.7 sq. kms. and located at an elevated height of about 8800 ft. above the ground level. The Rio Grande river plays an important part in the local economy as the prinicipal source of water. It helped in the growth of farming, fishing and ranching in the area. Local natural beauty also attracts a substantial number of tourists in the area.
