Flagstaff has sportswear of various kinds available for sale. Sportswear may refer to two different (and easily confused) things. In one sense, it refers to specialized clothes for sportspeople and athletes. These are designed and manufactured with the sport in mind, keeping comfort, safety and practicality as the prime considerations. On the other hand, sportswear may also refer to casual, non-formal wear that was popularized in America from the 1920s. It originated from the relaxed look that one could sport during spectator sports. While the fashion here is casual, it is still appropriate for many business or social occasions. Both of these are manufactured by a large number of companies, one or more of which have a distinct presence in Flagstaff.
