The largest city in the western part of the Nevada County in California, Grass Valley covers a total area of 4.7 square miles with a population of 12,860 as per the 2010 Census.

There are several primary and secondary schools in the area and a public library.

The city has a diverse economy ranging from tourism and service sector to retail, wholesale, commercial trade, small scale business, hotels and restaurants etc. There is also a fair amount of electronic companies operating in the area. A significant number of locals also depend on Agriculture as the soil is considered very fertile for plantation. So while Orchards and organic vegetables are produced, on the other hand, the past few years have seen a growth in the city’s wine industry.
