The largest city in the western part of the Nevada County in California, Grass Valley covers a total area of 4.7 square miles with a population of 12,860 as per the 2010 Census.
There are several primary and secondary schools in the area and a public library.
The city has a diverse economy ranging from tourism and service sector to retail, wholesale, commercial trade, small scale business, hotels and restaurants etc. There is also a fair amount of electronic companies operating in the area. A significant number of locals also depend on Agriculture as the soil is considered very fertile for plantation.
