Haines City is a city located in Polk County, Florida, United States. It is the third most populated city in Polk County. The city was formerly known as Clay Cut without a railroad station but was platted in 1885 when the South Florida Railroad reached the area. Haines City was originally incorporated under the General Statutes of Florida on February 23, 1914.
