Firewood is available for sale in Las Vegas. This refers to wooden material that is used as fuel, usually in fireplaces. Not much processing is required after cutting the wood/branches down. These may be obtained from managed woodlots, or may be the deadwood from natural forests. Chainsaws are used to cut down the branches or the tree. The wood is then split to allow it to season faster. This is usually done by a hydraulic splitting machine. The wood is not moved to a great distance away from its origin, so that invasive species or insects do not spread. The wood is then stored in stacks until sale. The moisture quantity in the wood determines its heating value.
