A military base controlled by the United States Navy that was in use between the years 1942-2000, Naval Construction Battalion Center (CBC) Port Hueneme has presently merged into Naval Base Ventura County. The Port supports the training and mobilization requirements for more than 2600 active duty personnel.It is located on the vast agricultural Oxnard Plain about 97 kms northwest of Los Angeles on the Southern California coast.
