Rome has one or more religious associations, organizations and/or churches. Churches are places of worship for Christians of various denominations. Many churches also run, or are involved in faith-based organizations (or religious organizations) and associations. These organizations work in many different sectors, such as promotion of the faith itself, which is called evabgelism, administration of the churches themselves, and relief works, both nationally and internationally. Some of the relief works a church organization in Rome may be involved in include community development activities, disaster management, raising funds for underprivileged sections of the society, faith-based volunteering, literacy missions, and so on. The work done may be either on the local, national or international levels. The kind of organization, and their thrust areas, would vary by denomination as well. A number of such organizations are international in nature, and are run by a national or international administrative group, with local groups. Some of the well known religious organizations and associations include The Bible Society, Worldwide Faith Missions, etc. The goal of these organizations is to spread the word of Christ (as interpreted by them), and do good for others.
