Brief Information About Alapaha

Alapaha is a town in Berrien County, Georgia, along the Alapaha River. The town's population was 668 as per the 2010 census. It grew from a trading settlement on the site of a Seminole village with the same name. The city of Lakeland was originally named Alapaha.

The Alapaha blueberry is a patented rabbiteye blueberry named for the Alapaha River, and tested at Alapaha.It is a protected variety that can only be sold by licensed individuals.
