Andover is a city in Butler and Sedgwick counties in the state of Kansas. It is part of the Wichita Metropolitan Statistical Area, and its population at the 2010 census was 11,791.
On April 26, 1991, the F5 Andover Tornado left a trail of destruction through parts of Kansas, including south Wichita and Andover. It caused 13 deaths in the town, and razed more than 300 homes. Two churches were also destroyed, as were local businesses. The city has since recovered from the effects, and has grown in the last decade.
