Axtell is a village in Kearney County, Nebraska. It is part of the Kearney, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area, and its population at the 2000 census was 696.
Axtell is known as the home of Mosaic - Bethphage Village of Axtell, which provides services for the developmentally disabled. It is also sometimes called "The Windmill City" for the large number of windmills in the area. The population predominantly comprises White Americans.
