Barrington is a Borough in Camden County, New Jersey. Its population at the 2010 census was 6,983. The borough was incorporated in 1917, from portions of the now-defunct Centre Township.
The borough has a total area of 1.6 square miles, all of it land.
The Edmund Scientific Corporation was located here, for the period of 1942 to 2001. The two major roads passing through are the Interstate 295, which passes through briefly with Exit 29 connecting the expressway with U.S. Route 30 and Route 41, and the New Jersey Turnpike which also passes through, but the closest exit is Interchange 3 in neighboring Bellmawr/Runnemede.
The economy is primarily based on local businesses, professional services, sales and service. To a minor extent production, construction and transport of materials is also carried out here.
