Beaver Bay is said to be the oldest settlement located on the Northern Shore of superior Lake. With a total area of about 2.8 sq. kms., Beaver Bay is situated at an elevated point of about 703 ft. from sea level. The Sledge Dog Marathon of John Beargrease is a famous event of the town.
Beaver Bay is also located about 25 miles northeast of Two Harbors City. Minnesota highway No. 61 is the principal arterial road route of the city. Tourism and services are the principal economic activities of its people. Education is also well developed in the area.
