Brief Information About Bellows Falls

Bellows Falls is a village located in the town of Rockingham in Windham County, Vermont. It is home to the Green Mountain Railroad, a heritage railroad, and also to the annual Roots on the River Festival.The Bellows Fall-Vilas Bridge connects it with Vermont and New Hampshire. It tapped the water power of the falls for industry. This helped to create industrialization in the town. Around 1802, entrepreneurs built the first paper mill, then two railroads converged in 1849 at Bellows Falls, helping it develop into a major mill town.  The principal products produced here is paper and farm machinery. The Falls was later incorporated as a village in the year 1909.
Industry helped in the creation of wealth in the town. This village attracts visitors through heritage tourism.
