 Boiling Springs is a census-designated place (CDP) in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It is part of the Spartanburg Metro Area, and has a total area of 6.8 square miles, all of which is land. The CDP is so named for the presence of springs that would boil and sometimes shoot water into the air. Though commercial development appeared to halt the phenomenon, it has since then restarted. The spring is at the corner of McMillian Boulevard and Highway 9.

Manufacturing, retail trade and health care and social assistance are the major contributors to the local economy. James H Hendrix Elementary School and Boiling Springs High School are the local public schools. The closest hospital is the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, located about 5 miles away in Spartanburg. The cost of living here is 6.90% lower than the country average.
