Bon Secour lies along the river of Bon Secour and the adjoining bay. It has a total area of about 3.4 sq. miles. It is a part of the Baldwin county in the state of Alabama. This place is elevated by about 10 ft from the sea level. Since, Bon Secour is located in the Northern coast of the Mexican Gulf, it makes the place vulnerable to hurricanes. One of the recent among them is Hurricane Katrina. Due to the oil spill of Deepwater Horizon, the availability of gulf shrimps got affected. This disaster affected many fishermen to close their business. It is a picturesque place with lots of flora and fauna like brown pelicans, Spanish moss among others.
