Brief Information About Brewer

Brewer is a city of Penobscot County in the notheastern state of Maine. Brewer is a part of the MMSA of Bangor. It was named after its first settler Col. J. Brewer. It is said to be the sister city of Bangor. They are located on the opposite sides of Penobscot River. Brewer has a total area of about 15.7 sq. miles. The Victorian style resident of Daniel Sargant is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Brewer is said to be quite famous for its brick making, saw mills, paper mills of Eastern Manufacturing, ice industry and many others. Many locals are engaged with these industries. Some notable residents of the town are Gen. J. Blake, Maj. Gen. J. Chamberlain and E. Commeau. Tourism is an important economic activity of the region.
