Brief Information About Bridgewater

Bridgewater is a town in Litchfield County, Connecticut state. At the 2000 census, its population was 1,824. Bridgewater remains the only dry town in the state.

The Bridgewater Library Association was established in 1904, succeeding previous lending libraries operated by individuals in town. It has remained operational ever since, based on generous donations such as of Charles E. Piggott who left the library $300,000 in 1973.
