Burnsville has a total area of about 12.5 sq. kms. and is located at an elevation of 467 ft from the ground level. Burnsville is situated in the County of Tishomingo. The area has a number of rivers like the Yellow Creek, Little Yellow Creek and the Waterway of Tombigbee - Tennessee. The town is well developed with a number of schools operating under the school district of Tishomingo County. There is also the Burnsville Public Library in the town. There are two major roadways bisecting the town and well connected railroad facility. The media industry is quire advanced with a number of local FM radio stations in the town. The local natural beauty of the town also attracts a few tourists in the area during the summer months. L. Carpenter is a famous resident of the town.
