Carolina is a village straddling the towns of Charlestown and Richmond, in Washington County, Rhode Island. It is located on the Pawcatuck River. The village is identified as a Census designated place (CDP) from 2010. The village was established during the early nineteenth century. It was initially called "Carolina Mills", and the name was changed in 1879.
Tourism is popular here.
