Dakota Dunes is located in the County of Union in the US state of South Dakota. It is a community place with an area of about 8 sq. kms. It is basically a master planned commercial and residential area. The area of Dakota Dunes is located between the rivers of Sioux and Missouri. Dakota Dunes is actually owned and developed by the Energy Holdings Company of MidAmerican. With a Country Club and golf course, it is also an important tourist destination in the area and holds a major part of the local economy.
