Delta Junction is located in the southeastern part of Fairbanks Census area. It is located just a small distance away from the meeting points of Tamana and Delta river. The area is known as the Big Delta area. With a total area of about 45 sq. kms., Delta Junction is located at an elevated point of about 1160 ft. above the ground level.
Mining is an important area of local economic activity and many of the locals are also involved with other related industries in the region. At present, the main economic activities are centered around agriculture, mining, tourism and other support facilities. Some are also invollved with the Delta Junction elementary school.
