Florala is a city in Covington County, Alabama. The name is a portmanteau of the names Florida and Alabama, since this city lies at the state border. Since most of it lies in Alabama, there is no listing for Florala, Florida. It has a total area of 10.9 square miles, 10.4 square miles of which is land, and the rest is water. It has the Lake Jackson.

The  World’s Oldest Consecutive Annual Masonic Day Celebration occur here, from the year 1870.

Construction, services, real estate and retail trade are the major commercial activities here. Public schooling comprises Florala City Middle School, and Florala High School. The town has one local airport, the Florala Municipal Airport. The closest hospital is Mizell Memorial Hospital, about 20 miles away in Opp. The city has a public library, the Florala Memorial Public Library.
