Brief Information About Grand Bay

Grand Bay is  a small to mid-sized community town. It is located in the County of Mobile. Grand Bay is actually situated in the Metropolitan statistical area of Mobile. Grand Bay has a total area of about 23 sq. kms. and located at 83 ft. above sea level. One of the important economic activities of the locals are the planting and production of pecan fruits and watermelons. There is also a historic district of Grand Bay and this helps in the promotion of tourism, since it is listed on the National register of Historic Places. Some local inhabitants are also involved with the local timber industry.  A water melon festival is held here on an annual basis. There is also a community center located in the vicinity of the town. A notable resident of Grand Bay is M. Haynes, who is an award winning author.
