Hermon is a hamlet located in St. Lawrence County between the St. Lawrence River and the foothills of the Adirondacks, New York, United States. It lies within the northern portion of the Town of Hermon and is southwest of Canton. The town was established in 1830 as the "Town of Depeau" from the Towns of De Kalb and Edwards. The town replaced its name to Hermon, after a post office in the town, in 1834 due to the presence of another place named after Francis Depeau. Hermon was incorporated village from 1887 to 2016.
