Hockessin is a census-designated place (CDP) in New Castle County, Delaware state. As per the 2000 census, its population was 12,092. The town is one of the fastest growing areas in Delaware. Since 1990, the population has tripled.
Although Hockessin is primarily a bedroom community, there are several mushroom farms in the area.
