Howard Beach is an area in the southwestern segment of the New York City borough of Queens, United States. It is joined to the north by the Belt Parkway and South Conduit Avenue in Ozone Park, and to the south by Jamaica Bay in Broad Channel. However, it should be better known for its fascinating mix of geography with Jamaica Bay, swamps, waterways, canals, and housing types from seaside cottages all the way up to high-rise buildings. Howard Beach was named after William J. Howard.
