With a total area of about 8 sq. miles, Lawrence is a city of Essex County located beside the Merrimack River. Lawrence is also a part of the Merrimack Valley. There are number of manufactured industries located in the city's periphery. Some of the manufactured products are textiles, footwear, computers, electronic equipment among others.
