Sand Point, also known as Qagun Tayagungin, is a city located in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is part of the Aleutians East Borough on northwestern Popof Island, one of the Shumagin Islands, off the Alaska Peninsula in the southwest out to Akutan and Dutch Harbor to the east. In 1898, Sand Point was founded by the San Francisco fishing company and incorporated on September 1, 1966. It has a subpolar oceanic climate.
