Tok is a census-designated place located in the U.S. state of Alaska. It is part of the Southeast Fairbanks Census Area on the Tanana Valley between the Tanana River and the Alaska Range. Tok derived its name from the Athabascan word for "peaceful crossing" which recognize among the most isolated communities in the United States. In 1901, the name "Tok River" was to be used for the nearby river according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The total land area of Tok is 132.3 square miles. The region has a dry-winter continental subarctic climate. At a certain point in time when temperature reading has gone below −80 °F (−62 °C).
