The city of Union Springs is the county seat of Bullock County in Alabama. It nestled at the intersection of U.S. Route 82 and U.S. Route 29. Union Springs was first settled by white men in 1835. It then became incorporated on January 13, 1844. The city has a total area of 6.7 square miles at 32°8′24″N 85°42′46″W. The elevation is 522 feet above sea level. Bullock County School District serves public education throughout the city. There are 2 Union Springs high schools included in the system, the Bullock County High School, and Bullock County Career Technical Center. Also, a middle school and an elementary school.
