Whatley is an unincorporated village and census-designated place in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is within the southeast center of Clarke County at 31°39′03″N 87°42′18″W. Elevation is 154 feet above sea level. The name Whatley was a tribute to Franklin Benjamin Whatley. The Whatley Historic District is included on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1901, it became incorporated but did not appear on any census data until 2010 when it was a census-designated place. It had recorded with a total population of 150 people. Area code is 251.
