Worthington is a city within Franklin County, at northern suburb of the larger Columbus, Ohio, USA. In 1803, the city was founded by the Scioto Company led by James Kilbourne, who was elected to the United States House of Representatives, and then later became governor of Ohio.
In 1956, voters adopted the first charter for the City of Worthington. Included in the charter was the approval of the council-manager form of government. This form provides for the election of seven council members for four-year terms on an at-large, nonpartisan basis. The Worthington Parks & Recreation team has been working to safety standards and reopening some facilities and programming based on current State protocols. Worthington has Zip code 43085.
