A patient (a woman of color) was admitted to CaroMont Regional Medical Center on 8/15/2020,underwent a surgical procedure at the aforementioned facility on 8/20/2020. The patient's PCP gave orders for specific pain medication to be administered due to an allergic reaction to another. The medication that was removed by her PCP is being offered by the on call doctor who refuses to see the patient face to face. The last administered dose of pain medication was at 4PM on 8/21/2020. The patient's BP was repeatedly within stroke range(212/128). The floor nurses checked the machinery before sending in another person of color to check the patient's BP. The patient at this point was offered the medication she is allergic to, being cognizant the patient refused. The patient asked for patient representative to speak to. She was given two phone numbers and told noone would be available until 8AM of 8/22/2020. The patient then asked to speak to the on call doctor. The patient was told they couldn't speak to her. The patient then felt unsafe receiving medical treatment from the facility and asked for a waiver to leave. The on call doctor immediately agreed, but continued to refuse to see the patient. The patient requested the doctor's name, the facility refused the request. Staff present throughout the stated incident were two nurses Angelica and Nicole, one medical tech Marcus. The on call doctor and charge nurse currently refuse to interact with the patient and the other staff will not identify them by name. Staff also refuses to identify the director and chief of staff upon patient requests / Comment
