Leola has quilting materials and supplies available for retail sale. Quilting is a sewing method. In this, two or more pieces of fabric are stitched together, such that the mateial becomes thicker. This can be done in various ways, either entirely by hand or by using machines. A traditional quilt would have three layers- a top layer, the insulating layer, and backing material. A running stitch is usually used. Quilts can be used as bedspreads, wall hangings, clothing and other products. A number of supplies and materials are needed, such as threads, different kinds of fabric, quilt patterns and swewing kits. All of these are available in Leola. One can choose from a wide variety of colors, fabrics and finishes. Books with quilting instructions may also be available.
