Art museum(s) in New York are spaces where art exihibitions (of the visual variety, usually) are put up. Such buildings can be either public or private. Apart from visual art such as paintings of various kinds, and sketches, museums may also display sculpture, decorative arts, furniture, textiles, costume, drawings, pastels, watercolors, collages, prints, artists' books, photographs, and installation art. The site can also be used sometimes for other cultural activities.
