Acampo is a small census-designated place (CDP) just outside of Stockton in San Joaquin County, California state. In the 1870s, Acampo was named as a Southern Pacific Railroad station. Its population was 341 at the 2010 census. The name Acampo comes from a Spanish word for "portion of the common given to the herds for pasture".
