Advance is a town in Jackson Township, Boone County, Indiana. At the 2010 census its population was 477.
The town was originally called Osceola, but had to be changed as there was already a city by the same name in the state. The name Advance was chosen "in anticipation of the advancement which the coming of the Midland Railway would bring to the community".
The town population predominantly comprises White Americans.
