Anahuac is a city in and the county seat of Chambers County, Texas. It falls within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown Metro Area, and has a total area of 2.1 square miles, all of which is land. The name is from Nahuatl kanguage, and the word has several meanings. The town was settled in early nineteenth century, and has continued to enjoy modest growth since then.

Construction, trabsportation and public administration are the major commercial activities here. Tourism is also important as the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge is the southeast of the city. There is an elementary and a high school. Chambers County Airport is the local airport. Bayside Community Hospital on Hospital drive serves the city.
