Armour is a city in and the county seat of Douglas County, South Dakota. It has a total area of 0.9 square miles. 1.05% of the area is water, and the rest is land. It is named after Philip D. Armour, the founder of Armour and Company, a meat packing company. Though the company itself wasn't located here, the owner also owned the railroad that went through the town. He also donated the church bell.

Construction, public administration and wholesale trade are the major contributors to the local economy. The town has one elementary, one middle and one high school. The closest hopital is the Wagner Memorial Hospital, located about 20 miles away in Wagner. The cost of living here is 21.10% lower than the country average.
