Atmore is a city in Escambia County, Alabama. Its population during the 2005 census was 7,656. The city has a total area of 8.4 square miles, of which 8.3 square miles is land and 0.04 square miles (0.36%) is water.

The Poarch Band of Creek Indians has its headquarters here. Historically, the economy of the town was based on farming, timber, and light industry. One of the significant outfits here was Swift Supply Lumber Company. However, in the last few decades, the most prominent industry here has been telecommunications. Southland Systems started the trend. The Poarch Band of Creek Indians reservation near I-65 makes a significant contribution to the local economy. The tribe operates the Creek Casino and the Wind Creek Casino and Hotel for tourism and conferences. Atmore's cost of living is 15.80% lower than the country average, making living cheaper here.

The city also hosts a number of festivals, such as Mayfest, Williams Station Day, Poarch Creek Indian Pow-Wow and a few more.
