Bandon is a city in Coos County, Oregon. It is part of the Coos Bay Metro Area, and has a total area of 3.1 square miles. 0.3 square miles of the area is water, and the rest is land. The city is near the mouth of the Coquille River. Before the European settlers arrived, the Coquille Indians had a settlement here. The city was founded by the Irish peer George Bennett in 1873, and named after a town in Ireland. It was incorporated in 1891.
