Barnsdall is a city in Osage County, Oklahoma. It is part of the Tulsa Metro Area, and has a total area of 0.6 square miles, all of which is land. It was founded in the year 1905, and named Bigheart. This was changed in 1916 in honour of Mr. Barnsdall who discovered the adjacent oilfield.

Manufacturing, construction and educational services are the major commercial activities here. The erstwhile refinery produces microcrystalline waxes and is still operational. The Bank of Bigheart and the Barnsdall Main Street Well Site are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town hosts an annual Bigheart Day. Public schooling comprises one elementary and one high school. The closest hospital is the Pawhuska Hospital Inc., located about 17 miles away in Pawhuska.
