Barrett is a city of Grant County in the state of Minnesota. It is elevated at a height of about 1170 ft. from ground level. In the southern west side of the city is the Barrett lake. This lake is formed by the river of Pomme de Terre. There are a number of Schools in the area operating under the West Central Area School District of Grant County.
There is a community theatre in Barrett and it houses a childrens' theatre of Praire Fire. Farm & Home Oil have replaced a general store of Carroll's. Barrett also boasts of a gas station and a bar cum restaurant. There is a local edition of a newspaper for the local community. Some places of tourist interest are the Lakeside Pavillion and the Roosevelt House, the latter famous for its community functions. It is also registered in the National registry of historic places.
