Baudette is located in the Woods County Lake. The city is also called the Walleye Capital of the entire world. Baudette is also the County seat of the Wood County Lake. It has a total area of about 9.7 sq. kms. and elevated at a height of about 1090 ft. from the ground level. The city of Baudette is located at the confluence of the river Baudette and along the city of Rainy river. The cities of Rainy River and Baudette are connected by the International bridge of Baudette and Rainy River.
Three major state highways cross the city. Rowell Labs. Inc. is a leading manufacturer of various kinds of pharmaceutical products and happens to be one of the principal employers. The other one is the Automotive Enviro Testing, a cold weather test facility for Acura and Honda. Some notable residents of the town are K. Ballard and T. H. Rowell.
