Beatrice is a town in Monroe County, Alabama. The town has a total area of 1.4 square miles, all of which is land. It is situated at an elevation of 196 feet. The town was named after Beatrice Seymour, granddaughter of the railroad construction superintendent. It was incorporated in 1901.
Monroe Sausage, a locally owned smoked pork sausage product, is located here. An annual sausage festival is held to celebrate the industry. Other local businesses include Beatrice Meat Company, Hudson Hines Real Estate and Timber, Martin Realty, Inc., and Hines, Steele and Steele, Inc. The rejuvenated downtown area includes a number of antique and gift shops, a cafe, as well as a bed and breakfast.
