Bellingham is the County seat of Whatcom, located in the same County. Bellingham has a total area of about 82 sq. kms. and is located at an elevated height of about 70 ft. from the ground level. It is located in close proximity to the cities of Seattle and Vancouver. 

Bellingham is famous for its various type of outdoor activities famous in areas like the Islands of San Juan and the Mountains of North Cascades. The principal economic activity is primarily centered around the tourism sector. Some of the largest employers are Peace Health, School district of Bellingham, Haggen, W.W.University, Sodex, among others.
